Protect Your Investment
Virgin Hair is REAL hair, and thus requires a certain level of attention and sensitivity. We eat food to feed our bodies with nutrients which eventually makes their way through our system to feed our skin and hair. We cannot feed hair extensions in the same way so we need to use alternative methods.
Use organic and no sulfate shampoo's to regularly feed, moisturise and treat your hair extensions. Remember, coloured hair goes through a chemical process, especially when lightened to blondes and special colours, this is unavoidable to achieve the colours we all desire. A little moisturising oil (we prefer Almond) each week is key.
Avoid shampoo and conditioning products which use Sulfates, Isopropyl Alcohol, Formaldehyde and Propylene Glycol, these are strong chemicals which will strip the hair of natural oils and leave them dry and sometimes damaged if used for a prolonged period of time.
Brushing Your Hair
You need to regularly brush your hair to keep away knots and tangles. To brush your hair need to use a brush designed for extensions or a wide tooth comb. Always brush from the roots to the tips of your hair. To keep your hair from knotting up hold it together as to form a ponytail, and brush it. Following this technique will keep your hair from tangling up.
Shampooing and Conditioning
You need pay very close attention to what you put in your hair. Using the wrong hair products can cause damage faster than you can image. It is recommended to use products that are alcohol-free and do not contain other harmful components. You can shampoo and condition your hair with a high quality product, preferably organic. Gently massage the conditioner into your hair while taking a shower. Do not use hot water to rinse your hair instead use luke warm. It is recommend to shampoo and condition your hair at least once a week. Also try to use products that are specifically made for your hair type.
Drying Your Hair
After washing your hair, you can use a towel to gently dry it. Blow drying your hair is not recommended, as it can damage your hair. But if you must blow dry, make sure you use it on low heat. You can also a leave-in conditioner while your hair is still damp, as it adds extra moisture to keep the hair healthy. You can use the leave-in conditioner every two weeks or once a month to avoid build up.
Styling & Maintaining Your Hair
After your hair is dry, you can style it however you like it. But refrain from using hair spray, gel, or mousse because they will cause harm to your hair and create split ends. As stated earlier, it is recommended to use organic products as they contain no harmful ingredients, and will keep your hair naturally gorgeous. Organic products also help with wavy and curly hair textures.
